Hi All

I am trying to find some information on a blacksmith and trading store that was run by David Robert Hill (b.12 Feb 1861;d.1 Mar 1918) and Amelia Ellen Hill nee Holdstock (b.15 Jul 1867;m.8 Jan 1896;d.29 Jan 1925) . This was all in the CHALUMNA district of East London. The farm was called Hillside. It is thought that David was the first person to own a motor car in the area and because of that had to install a petrol pump at the trading store, he also made ox wagons.
I have all the information on David and Amelia, what I am looking for is the history of the store and blacksmith, if he did have one of the first motor vehicles there must be a story of him some where.
Any information would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Allan Roy
