Hi Christopher
If you find any, I would dearly love to know!
I wrote to P&O www.pogroup.com or email about
sailings to India and on to South Africa. Stephen Rabson is the P&O
Historian and Archivist based at Greenwich.

For India he told me that passenger lists at the Public Record Office do not
begin until 1895. Individual sailings and individual ships records are kept
at the Mational Maritime Museum in Greenwich. He sent me lists of routes
and names of ships - which is a start - but I get the impression that the
next step is to look up info yourself .....

or .... something I haven't pursued yet, is to see if there is anyone near
Greenwich who might be able to help.

Sorry to be so vague, as I haven't got any further. there is certainly some
interesting info on the P&O site.
Regards
Gilly
