Hi Listers

My brother has agreed to take time out from his busy schedule and do some searching at the NG Kerk Archives in Cape Town. We're looking for the forebears of our great grandmother (see below).

Can anyone give us some advice as to how best to utilise the resources on offer in the archives so as to maximise the time spent there? My brother has no interest in genealogy and is doing me a favour.

Our great grandmother was Elizabeth Hendrina
Magdalena GELDENHUYS b. April 1878 or 1879 in Caledon, South Africa (married
in either Vredenburg or Cape Town to William
Thomas Howell), died in Durban, South Africa 24/06/1942, and had been a
government employee. Her
husband, WT Howell b.08/12/1879 Middlesex, England. d. Addington
Hospital, Durban 27/04/1939. He was retired at the time and living in
Montclaire Durban and had worked for the Prison Service.
