I must have missed the KNOTT to KEMP connection, but my aunt collected the
KEMP info and wrote a book called KEMP OF THE BORDERS. I have a copy if any
needs info from it - as I am sure all the KEMPs in the area have. My STEERS
family is connected to the KEMP family

The well-known Kemp family in this area were 1820 settlers from
Kent.
