There is a summary of the stay in South Africa of the "12th (East Suffolk)
Regiment (Reserve Battalion)" in the book "The South Africa 1853 Medal" by
G.R. Everson.
There is also a web site that has the medal recipients who are listed in the
book. No doubt you can easily find it by searching on Google for "South
Africa 1853 Medal".
If you want me to look up a particular name, please let me know.

I'm seeking information on the Suffolk Regiment 12th Cavalry who served in
South Africa during the 1850s,
with particular relevance to the Albany District. If
anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be
grateful.
