There is just such a wonderful project now in NZ. They are putting on line
and also in hard copy at the museums the names of all NZders who have died
in a war since the A/BWar. it is/has located their graves, tries to get
monumental inscriptions, is/has catalogued all the war memorials. those of
us who have contributed have sent photographs of such for instance a little
bridge off the main road in the Wairarapa that now goes nowhere was raised
by the farmers in the area after WW1 to the 6 farmers in the district who
died WW1. Another is of the graves in Annan, Scotland of NZ airmen. I found
and old book on a school fair book table that listed the men who died at
Gallipoli, a collection made by a private individual. a gem.
lest we forget.
Pat
It IS a most worthwhile project.
