Excuse my ignorance/lack of Afrikaans knowledge but am reading a book ....

Mostert's Bay was a Malay fishing village, peopled by followers of the great Sheik Joseph, holiest of all the holy men who were exiled at the Cape late in the 17th century, and whose kramat stands at Fature....

Is it a statue/monument?
