Hi Laurraine
Thanks for your reply. I had already checked this family in the Settler
Handbook but, according to Nash, two children died: Thomas and his mother at
Portsmouth and Samuel died at sea. I have the Futter family tree book from
which I have all the Futter information and where I had found out the names
of Thomas James & Elizabeth Rudman, parents of Martha. The other possibility
is that Samuel James remarried and named another son Thomas. I haven't been
able to find a death notice for Thomas James so that I could determine his
parents names. Will just have to keep looking.
