Hi Steve,
Many thanks for yr prompt reply. The address at Fordsburg, Joburg was
probably where his wife and 2 children were living. I have investigated
further re: the mine, and there is a gold mining compay in existence today
called " Bracken Mines Ltd, in the Joburg area. Could this be the "State
Mines Brakpan( Brakpen)" referred to on John James Willcock's Death Notice of
1926 ? I am probably clutching at straws !
While I am online, I would like to say a very big thank you to all you
wonderful people who take the time, in what are probably very busy lives, to
offer asistance to fellow family historians. That includes you Steve. It is
appreciated.
Liz Winder.
