A friend of mine Pierre du Toit is busy looking for his heritage. He has
very little to go on. One essential piece of information about his great
great grandfather is a death notice printed in a newspaper. I gladly type
the whole notice here as I believe it would help someone to fit their pieces
together, and perhaps someone can provide some additional information for
my friend to continue his search.

DOODBERICHT

Het heeft de Almachtigen God behaagd tot zich te nemen myn teederbeminde
echtgenoot PIETER DANIEL DU TOIT, te Victoria West op den 25sten Februari,
1896, in den hoogen ouderdom van 65 jaren drie maanden en drien dagen,
na een echtverbintenis van 40 jaren. Hy was vier maanden ziek. Hoe zwaar
het verlies voor my ook zy wil ik zwygen want wat de Here doet is wel gedaan.
Ik wensch myn hartelyken dank toe te brengen aan Dr DARTER en aan al de
vrienden en vriendinnen die my zoo trouw hebben bygestaan gedurende de
ziekte van myn overleden echtgenoot.
Uit naam der nageblevenen, de bedroefde echtgenoote M.C. DU TOIT.

If anyone has information regarding a Pieter Daniel du Toit I would gladly
like to pass it on to my friend Pierre.
