Hi Listers,
This is my first attempt at S.African genealogy and is on behalf of an Australian friend. Please be patient if I ask stupid questions. I have been given the following information,
Matilda Ann Stevens nee Lynch b 25 Sep 1879 in S.Africa, (exact place unknown)
Married 18 May 1898 in East London, SA
Died 24 January 1940 at Klipheuval (Klipheuvel) near Cape Town.
The friend wants me to get a birth certificate, how and where does one apply.
My second question is, can anyone recommend a private researcher. It might be better if my friend can deal directly with said help, than with me and my trying to sort out costs etc. I would appreciate any help and that answers be sent to me off list especailly if sending information on researchers.
