A general thank-you to all those (including Maureen, Cliff JONES, and
Sir Ken MARKHAM) who responded to my recent HERBERT enquiry.

Unfortunately, none of the names offered check out against any of the
names in my English HERBERT family, but you cant win them all <vbg>.
My original question, re HERBERT & DUBBIN, remains unanswered, and if
anyone, ever, is able to come up with the full names of those two
photographers, I would be delighted to hear about it.

DG>A studio photo taken very late 1890s(?), of a couple - the man

DG>strong family resemblance to various HERBERT males appearing in

DG>mounted on a card, on the back of which it states "HERBERT & DUBBIN,
DG>photographers, East London, Cape Colony".

DG>Can anyone identify the photographic firm, and/or supply the full
DG> names
DG>of the two partners? Perhaps there are East London Directories in
DG>existence, or early Electoral Rolls, that might carry this
DG> information

Thanks again,
