No, but in a stupendously unrelated reply, I can tell you that the model for
the hero of Wilbur Smith's "Shout at the Devil" was Major P.J. "Jungle Man"
Pretorius who played a hand in the sinking of the German cruiser "Konigsberg"
in the Rufiji delta in Kenya (or was it Tanganyika?) in World War I. He later
decimated the elephants in the Addo park.
