Thank you for all the assistance.
Potato trap - seems to be a means of storing bread in a container to keep it
fresh (added a potato to supply humidity - apparently half an apple in the
Christmas cake tin does the same).
Peelton seems to be the most likely name - a small railway siding/village
between KWT and Kei Road.
