Dear Dale ...
This is a connection between the DOUGLAS and SHEPSTONE name I have in my
tree .. Any help??
1. Helen Jane SHEPSTONE
The parents of Helen Jane SHEPSTONE are:
2. Theophilus Tylden SHEPSTONE was born January 4, 1856 at Wittebergen /
Kamastone Mission, Aliwal North, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Theophilus
died January 9, 1910 at Rhodes, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
3. Eliza Jane DICKS was born about (est) 1858. Eliza died in 1890 at South
Africa.
Helen was born about (est) 1880.
Helen and Hector DOUGLAS (est 1875) were married.
I'm afraid not much .. looked through for a BOTHA conection in the
SHEPSTONEs but none that I could find ....you might try contacting Thomas A
Stobie ... who has more info on the SHEPSTONEs.
Yours
Hugo Slater

Shepstone Botha, I would like to try another tack. As her second and third
names are essentially surnames, I suspect that her Mother may have been
either a DOUGLAS or a SHEPSTONE before her marriage. Does anyone
researching either of these surnames have a marriage of a daughter to a
BOTHA, circa 1870 - 1880? Emily was born in 1881 in the Cape Province.
