Having had no success in tracing my elusive grandmother, Emily Douglas Shepstone Botha, I would like to try another tack. As her second and third names are essentially surnames, I suspect that her Mother may have been either a DOUGLAS or a SHEPSTONE before her marriage. Does anyone researching either of these surnames have a marriage of a daughter to a BOTHA, circa 1870 - 1880? Emily was born in 1881 in the Cape Province.

I have tried ordering a birth certificate from the SA Embassy here in Australia, but cannot do that without her date of birth which I don't have. Her death notice does not give it, so I am stuck! Any further suggestions would be gratefully received.
