In my 1967 Who's Who is:

Alistair John Traffford, b. 22 Aug 1925, Pmburg. Son of Cecil Hector Trafford
(then still living). Married Mavis Edith Husan. Educated in Natal, address
377 Currie Road, Durban.

I would appreciate any/all known information on this well known Natal family.
My great-great grandfather was William Smerdon,who married Jane Rebecca Mundy
of Oxfordshire in 1849.William`s father was Archibald Smerdon.
They had 9 children of this marriage,the eldest being Annie Elizabeth who
married William Thyrkel Trafford.
Annie Elizabeth and William Thyrkel Trafford were my grandmother`s parents.
I`m to understand that the one daughter Helen,married Noel Thompson?
Another one of the daughters,Lucy Isabella gave Annie Elizabeth a beautiful
leather-bound diary as a gift,dated June 15th 1875.
Written on the inside cover is another name - M.Smerdon?It`s also rather
strange that there`s no mention of any boys in this family?
