Here is a little more on this book. There are at least two copies for sale
via bookfinder.com. I think this book will be of great interest to any
relatives of these unfortunate men.

Hi Lucas
My grandfather fought in the Anglo Boer war and was sent to a Prisoner of
war camp in Ceylon called Diyatalawa. He was not killed there and lived a
long life. Does he get a mention in your book (Christiaan Mauritz Botha
Murray (1873-1946)born in Potchefstroom.
I know nothing of his time in the army, at some point he must have landed up
in Colesburg as he married a Catharina Havinga who lived in the area, when
could they have met? Do you have anything on this that may shed some light
as to what my grandfather would have been up to at the time.
Regards
Tanya

Hi All.
I have read the messages on this subject with great interest and am keen to
get involved and help where I can.
I have in my possesion a copy of a book which I believe was banned at one
time because of it's obvious anti-Brittish sentiments. This is "Hoe zij
stierven" published in 1917 by H.A.U.M. which company is still in existance
these days. I would not want to add fuel to a fire which is hardly still
smoking but there must be many families who would like to have the
information about their relatives who were executed during the rebellion.
The names included are:
H. van Heerden Jac.zn
K Nienaber, P. Nienaber en J. Nieuwhoudt
F.A. Marais
J.P. Coetzee
P.W. Kloppert
C. Claassen
H.L. Jacobs en A.C. Jooste
P.L Fourie, J. van Rensburg en L.F.S. Pfeiffer
D. Olewagen en I. Nel

I hope I have not put the cat amongst the pidgeons with this list.
I have a flatbed scanner and a CD writer and am willing to scan this book
and some others I may have if somebody will point me in the right direction
and tell me what to do. I am in no way interested in a commercial enterprise
but being retired with plenty of time and interested in this subject, am
only too willing to assist in the project. I would, however, not wish to
infringe any copyright.
I look forward to the response from the list at large and from Ron in
particular. I can be contacted at .
Kind regards to all,
Lucas Rinken.
