According to Nash, Robert NEWCOMBE, 31, Cooper, was a member of Parkin's
party. No other Newcombes are listed.

Hockley's book says the same.

Marthie,
Thank you so much for the information from the Nash book.
Of course (as always), the more I find, the more questions I have.
Val de Kock had noted that Robert Newcombe was a member of "Bailie's party".
I just assumed that Val's Robert NEWCOMBE & this other Robert NEWCOMBE were
one
and the same.
Any thoughts on these 2 parties - Parkin's vs Bailie's? Could Bailie's party
have been an "inland" trek to a new settlement? Or perhaps Robert's wife &
children travelled with the Bailie party when they joined him.
