Hi Vaughan,
I am sorry I have no information on LODER however I am very interested
in your Agnes Harding AND James Harding. My great grandfather was
James Harding b. 27/11/1847 and apart from my grandfather William James
HARDING there were numerous daughters and two other sons one of whom
was James HARDING b. 29/07/1882. All early HARDINGS of this line were
born mainly near Cape Town I believe. I have been able to get positive
confirmation of the marriages of most of James HARDING seniors daughters
(children born 1872 - 1885) but do not know who James HARDING junior
married. James Senior's wife Elizabeth ? was alive in 1915 as I have
a photo of her with my grandfather William James's family. No where in
my extensive database do I have mention of an Agnes Harding but as
I have reason to believe James Junior had children and ages are about
right she could have been his wife. Two of the possible children could
just have been a Doreen Elizabeth Harding b. 23/1/1913 and Ronald
James HARDING b. 19/1/1911. I would be appreciative if you could
let me know as much details of Agnes HARDINGS burial in Umtata
as possible.
In addition to my own line of HARDING I have collected a very large
database of all other HARDING families in South Africa with the possibility
in mind that somewhere or other there may be links, but claimants to
many of these do not seem to exist, at least on the list. None of these
other lines appear to have a James (plain James) HARDING amongst them
(except one in England). The other lines also do not seem to have
any Agnes's either.
