Hi Cliff,
I had close links with Dundee up to 1997 when the last of my family in
Dundee passed away. I do however know that Scannell was quite a prominent
surname in that area with two Scannell families living there (then).
Maybe somebody with access to a Northern Natal telephone directory could
look up the Scannell name and pass the telephone numbers to you.
Dundee has one big cemetry but many of the farms in the area had smaller
family cemeteries. Dundee is very close to Glencoe (only about 8 km) and it
also has a cemetery.
Try sending a snail-mail letter to The Town Clerk, Dundee, 4000, South
Africa - asking for details of a grave for Eric Lawrence Jones in the Dundee
Cemetery. If you want a fax number, let me know.
Good luck.
