Can anyone tell me where the Nuwejaarsrivier is? So far I have been unable to trace it. Maybe the name has changed.

It will be in the Western Cape, probably in the Overberg area. The Nuwejaarsrivier was mentiond in connection with a farm Vogelstruiskraal which was on the river, in a Will made by Matthys (Thys Rostock) LOURENS made about 1777, the beneficiary being his second son Dirk Cornelis.

The other farm mentioned is Soetendalsvalleij, near to the future Bredasdorp, but it is not known whether the two farms were close to one another.
