Hello,

I am trying to determine where an English ancestor may have attended
church in Johannesburg. He had been brought up in the Church of
England.

Could somebody please enlighten me about the various denominations in
South Africa. I am assuming that there was some sort of Anglican
Church? All I could find from Salt Lake City was filming of parish
registers of the Methodist Church.

Are the older church records held by the individual churches, or have
they been deposited in a central location?

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.
