Would also be interested in this one- have the same problem with inaccurate
dates, but this concerns a wrong birthdate on a death certificate.

Subject:Corrections in birth certificate?
Hello Mrs. Groesbeek,
Could you please tell me if corrections to a birth certificate could be
made
at the Registrar of BMDs? I have received a birth certificate of my
grandfather from the Department of Home Affairs last year, but some of the
information was incorrect and some missing. I have the prove for the
incorrect and missing info.
My grandfather, Raffaelo Antonio Solari was born 12 October 1905 in Cape
Town. However, his name does not appear in his birth certificate, because
he
was Catholic and the Catholics do not have a registered name until they are
baptised. Secondly, the surname is spelled wrong, with an "e" added to the
"i" on the end. His father was from Italy. Thirdly, his month of birth is
November instead of October.
I have in my possession the marriage certificate of my grandfather's
parents
from St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Town and also my grandfather's baptist
certificate with his correct date of birth and the correct spelling of his
surname.
Would this be sufficient to have the information corrected?
Your advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Nazeem Davids Solari
