Hi, I think I knew the person you are inquiring about. My school
friend, Doreen Rostron was adopted as a baby by an older couple named
Rostron, who divorced when Doreen was maybe about 10 or so. Doreen
stayed with her dad rather than her mom. They lived in Kenilworth, a
suburb of Johannesburg. I definitely believe his name was Bertie because
one day for some reason I told Doreen I hated the name Albert, and she
said, "Hey, my dad's name is Albert." Oops! So that little
embarrassment stayed in my memory. I know he was from England as he had
an English accent, and he passed on his love for England to Doreen.
Doreen emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah about 1952 at the age of 22 and
married a Robert Stanley Thompson. They had 5 kids the last time I
heard.

In the meantime her dad passed away in Johannesburg. I'm not sure
when, about 1957.

Later Doreen and Bob moved to Southern California and I know they lived
in Orange County near Los Angeles. I also emigrated to the States, but
lost touch with them. Maybe they moved back to Utah.

Let me know, and maybe I can find out (for myself also).
