Hi Conrod,
I would be prepared to give a hand transcribing records.

Subject: VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT - Boer War POW Records
Hi All,
I know that I wrote earlier in the year mentioning a project to
transcribe the records of the Boer War Boer POW's into an electronic
form with the purpose of placing this information on the web and
possibly publishing a book.
The hold up in this project has been an attempt to discover if the
information is copyrighted and if we need to obtain permission from
the copyright holder.
These attempts have been fruitless and it is assumed at this stage
that no person or body holds copyright on the material, therefore we
can now continue with the project, at long last.
I am once again looking for volunteers living within the borders of
South Africa to transcribe the information. The reason for the limit
to South Africa is the excessive cost of posting bulky material to
other countries.
I know that a number of you responded agreeing to help and I will
start sending information to you within a week or so. I am looking
for more volunteers because many hands make light work.
Once I have a firm idea of how many volunteers there are and there
snail mail addresses I will supply additional information on what is
required and start sending out the information.
Your assistance in volunteering and assisting in this project will go
a long way to eventually getting some worthwhile information onto the
net.
Regards
Conrod Mercer
