Subject: Africana Library Capetown - Email Communications - no Responses

I have looked at the Capetown Africana Library web site and found some
email contact addresses. I sent the following emails on 26 September
1998, but have had no replies . . .

Could someone on the list help me with this please - preferably by
contacting the Africana Library and passing the messages on to whoever
should be dealing with them.

Thanks.

Regards, John

Subject: Photocopy of J R More's Report on Defence of Mafeking

Hallo

My grandfather's half brother was John Rys More who was first in the
Cape Government Railways and then the South African Railways where he
became General Manager in the 1920s.

He was responsible for sending a report on the part that the railways
could play in the defence of Mafeking. You have a copy of this report
in the library, Shelf. No. 6040 MSB 353 (30 TS bound pages, with index
and illustrations).

I should like to have a photocopy of this report please.

I should also be interested if you have anything more on John Rys More
or his father Thomas James More, who was also in the Railways in both
Capetown and Kimberley where he died in 1899.

I am used to drawing cheques in SA rand or I can pay by credit card.

Thank you.

Subject: South African Library Publications

Hallo Sylvia Luyt

I am interested in a list of the publications of the South African
library which are available for sale.

Could this be sent to me by email or airmail please?

I am particularly interested in the early Cape Government Railways in
Kimberley, Middleburg and Port Elizabeth.

I can easily draw cheques in SA Rand for payment for these items.

Regards

John Addis-Smith
