Hi Marg,

The HSRC published a book in 1978 about the Roux family in South Africa.
Paul Roux was the progenitor of the Roux's in South Africa, and was married
to Claudine SEUGNET, which I see is one of your other surnames. There is
also quite a lot of ties with the other surnames you have mentioned, except
with SKEAD. These surnames were all French Huguenots that came to the cape
around 1688. There was lot of intermarriage, with the result that almost all
those surnames today have various links to each other.

I am currently busy with a project to put up a web page of the South African
Roux family and have started inputting the Roux genealogy into a database
that I use to publish the data onto the Web. Currently the first four Roux
generations are available as well as the line from there to my own family.
It is a lot of work, but I will have the rest done over the coming months.
There is also information on the history of the Roux's, and this originates
mostly from the Roux book mentioned and also from some information I got
from various other places, such as the Huguenot museum.

Although the site is still only in its infancy and is undergoing continuous
changes, there should be quite a bit for you to start off with. Go have a
look at http://www.mweb.co.za/roux/ and let me know if there is anything
else you would require. I would be glad to look up whatever Roux information
you need. Also any feedback on how you experienced the site would be most
welcome.
