Janet Melville

I hear you have been looking for me. Please note my e-mail address. I
could not figure it out for about a month until it hit me. The second
letter is an L and not the number ONE, so my e-mail address is
AL and not A ONE

In the meantime, I was going to write to you about the above subject matter.

I noticed your message about some baptisms at the St. George Church,
Stepney, and have some information about this church. I review
periodicals from many genealogical societies, and one I came across was
the Anglo-German Society.

Since my hsuband's Johannes Faul, of German ancestry, was born in
Stepney, England, and then immigrated to South Africa, I was interested
in the Anglo-German Society. Johannes' parents were both born in Germany,
immigrated to Stepney, London, England area where they were married and
their children immigrated on to South Africa. There was definitely a
German area of London, and I think also a German Church.

You might want to put a query into their newsletter or write to Len
Metzner, who has indexed almost anything he can lay his hands on in
connection with Germans in England. He was able to find birth, marriage
and death records for me. So consider that the mother could have been
German, if the father was not, and this Society and especially Len, who
charges a small charge to look into these indexes, could be very helpful.

The address of the Anglo-German Family History Society is 14 River Reach,
Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 9QL, England.
