Dear Robin

I had a look at the estate file of Horace Walter Glass at the Master's
office today and recorded the following for you.

Horace Walter Glass, ID 9012295001008, born 29/12/1890 in Alice, Cape
Province, and died 5/2/1978 in Durban. This information was provided by his
son Norman Sydney Glass.

Perhaps if you approach the Department of Home Affairs with the name and
the ID number, to obtain a full birth certificate, you could be able to
confirm his place of birth. Bear in mind that the compulsory registration
of births only began in 1895 in the Cape Province.
