In the August 1988 issue of Family Tree Magazine there is an article by
Mark Tapping about CEPIX. It is the "Cape Town English Press Index"
published on microfiche by the South African Library, for the years 1871,
1875 and 1876. It would be of interest to genealogists as it includes the
index of birth, marriage and death announcements, circuit and
magistrates' court proceedings, mercantile and shipping announcements.

Mark states the Index can be consulted in the State Library in Queen
Victoria Street, Cape Town, the Strange Africana Library in Johannesburg,
African Library of the U of Witwatersrand and Kimberley Public Library,
and probably others.
