Barbara,
My maternal grandmother was Sarah KEARNS and Theodore OSTERLOH and she was
born in Kimberley. Have never really researched that side of my family but I
think that her (Sarah's) father was Brian KEARNS and and that she was born
in Cape Town. So there were KEARNS families in South Africa. I also seem to
remember that some O'CONNOR married a KEARNS somewhere in the eastern Cape.
