Hi All,
My current genealogy program is PAF ver 2.2 and not having done any research
work for a number of years and with the advent of windows, I find that I
definately need a change.
The problems are:
Which program should I use? AND
I have never been able to get the Genealogical Information Exchange (GIE)
feature, which includes GEDCOM, in PAF to work. Does this mean that if I
change programs will I have to re-enter all the data?
With regard to genealogy programs I would really appreciate comments on the
latest programs. I have seen comments here and there but am still not able
to decide. An additional major feature required is the ability to print and
plot wall charts with siblings in each generation (excluding their
children).
I have a review of Reunion 5 for Macintosh which sounds teriffic. Is this
program available for PC's?
Name of genealogy programs I have heard of lately are: PAF, Brothers Keeper,
UK - Family Tree, Family Tree Maker, Corel's Family Tree Suite, The Master
Genealogist, Cumberland Family Tree Maker, Reunion, Pedigree, Family Origins
and Roots.
I also heard that there are sites where you can download genealogy program
demonstrations. Does anybody know where?
Thanking you all in antipication,
Dick Starling
