The Durban Archive Depot yielded this clue about our stamvader. in 1807 he
applied for the emancipation of his slave Doortje with her children George,
Carolina, Jan and Andries. The reference is given as KAB CO 346. [ I
suspect that Doortje was Johannes Godfrey Waldeck wife & the mother of his
children.] If anyone is visiting the Capetown Archives, PLEASE could you do
a look-up for me ?
