Woody,
I think you are confused :-)
This tablet lists those killed at the Battle of the Tugela. This followed
the massacre at Blaaukrant which in turn followed the murder of Piet Retief
and his men by Dingane, the zulu king. This murder was witnessed by William
Wood (son of Richard Wood who was killed in the Battle of the Tugela).
William Wood was the interpreter to the Rev. Owen, a missionary at Dingane's
kraal.
