Sonia,
Just another bit of useless trivia taken from "Personalia of the Germans at
the Cape (1652-1806)" by Dr J. Hoge :

Joost or Jooste, Franz - Lippestadt. Arr. 1693 or so, loaned as a
shepherd1693-96, as farmhand 1696. Mentioned as a burgher 1699. ~ 1706 Maria
Mouton of Middelburg. 2 sons. Murdered 3.1.1714 by his wife and his two
slaves Titus of Bengal and Fortuin of Angola.
(CJ 1121 under 11.12.1693; CJ 1123, p.108; CJ 1125 : 49 and 283: CJ 1255 ,
p.425; G.R. nr 211; CJ 245 pp. 334 ff.; Bdlr. 1:80-81

I have transcribed it exactly as it is printed. Bdlr. = Boedelrekeningen
(estate accounts - I should imagine)) G.R. is de Villiers Geslacht-Register
der oude Kaapsche Familien (de Villiers Parma Ishould imagine). I have no
idea what CJ stands for and it is not mentioned in the list of
abbreviaitons. The archives would probably know.
