Greetings,

Congratulations Conrad for organising a South African mailing list.
It is a milestone for local genealogy.

My RSA research interests are: MAREE, DE KOCK, DE VILLIERS
(Overberg); ERASMUS (Tulbagh-Worcester); NESER, HOBERN, BYUS (all); JOHN
MATTHEWS (1820 settler x Mary Ann Sterley), FROST, SWART (Eastern
Cape). Where applicable, I am interested in the farms and properties
owned by my ancestors. My research icludes all my original `stamvaders'
(which is an extensive list) with special reference to some of their
colourful wives such as TRYN RAS, MAYKEN VAN DEN BERG, ROSINA VAN DIE
KAAP to mention but a few of my favourite ladies.

I will look up Death Notices at the Cape Town Archives for fellow
subscribers as well as other things where specific information is
available... looking for needles in a haystack can be very time
consuming but will help where possible!

Keep the mail rolling in. Your letters will be of great interest.
