Hello Rooters
This is Betty Murray and I live in Randburg, Gauteng. I have been
researching our family for the past few years. The families I am
researching are:
MURRAY
1) Patrick Joseph born Dublin about 1844.
2) His wife - Charlotte SNELL, born MILLER, married in Kimberley 4 Jan
1887.
3) Her children - Fred, Lionel, Bert and Lilian SNELL.
4) Their MURRAY children - all born in Kimberley - Edward William (born 29
Sept 1887), Patrick (born 21 May 1890), Mary
Anne (born 26 Feb 1894) and Julia (born 30 Sept 1896).
5) I have further info on the Patrick Murray b.1890 line but not on the
others.
6) Other names include HILL, TRETHEWEY, ADAMS, CLOUGH and HALL James
Hamilton - emigrated from Canada about 1920.

CAWOOD
1) David Henry born Irene, Transvaal about 1897, died Umtali, Rhodesia
about 1962.
2) His first wife - HULLY first name unknown, died in Barberton.
3) Their children - James Henry, Charlotte, Evelyn and another son,
possibly Cecil/John/Rhodes.
All born and lived in Rhodesia, all died in S.A.
I do have Allen Cawood's "Ancient family of Cawood" which details another
line.

BORNMAN
1) Mijndert Jacobus born OFS 1852, died Witbank 5 July 1932.
2) His first wife - KILIAN Martha Johanna Zagaria,born George, Cape
1852.died Barberton 1916.
3) Their children - 9 - too many to list.
4) His second wife - WATSON Helena Claudina born BOTHA married Germiston
1918.
5) One of his sons - Petrus Johannes Kilian:
His first wife - DE LANGE Johanna died 24 Aug 1923 - 7 children.
His second wife - STANDER Hester Maria married BORNMAN in Barberton 11
Nov 1926 (7 children), married CAWOOD David Henry in Umtali, Rhodesia
in 1943.
6) Other families - FERREIRA, VENTER, KNAPP, LLOYD, BOSCH, VOSLOO, EDWARDS,
BURTON, HARPER, PURCHASE.
