Over the weekend I was at the re-enactment of the battle of Talana in
Dundee. I must say it was excellent and very well done.
The battle of Talana was fought on Peter Smiths farm on the 20th October
1899.
The Smiths played a big role in Dundee and the Smith house was donated to
the
Talana Museam a couple of years ago. They've got a family grave yard
there. I wrote some of the info down, for those that are interested.

The Macphail's seem to also be connected to this line of Smiths.
The curator was unfortunately not in on Saturday when I went, as I wanted
to find out more information on the actual battle fought. For more
information you can contact the curator at the Talana Museam in Dundee.
