I am at a loss as to where to go next re; my brickwall gggrandfather,
Thomas McDivitt. The first record I have is marriage 1840, Frampton
Quebec at the age of only 20, and there is no previous record of him
there. There is an old family tale, however, that states the first of
this line to arrive from Ireland sailed from liverpool to N Y were two
brothers, sisters and (some) cousins--the ship wrecked "just out of New
York harbor and a sister and cousin were drowned" Please---any ideas out
there ?
