I have another cute computer tip. If you will hold down the ALT key , and
then go over where the numbers are on the right side of the keyboard, and
hit the 1,5,& 6 (all at the same time). It makes the £ sign. It is great
when dealing with some of the old land grants that dealt with sterling
rather than dollars. You may have to play around with it at first to get it
right .

If you are planning a trip to the British Isles or plan to order a research
book from there, and want to know how to convert your dollars into pounds,
this will also help...£.since they are still on the pound system!!.
(Someone in Scotland passed this on to me.)
