Broach, Lois Lupo



EFFINGHAM -- Lois Lupo Broach, 65, of 2742 W. John Paul Jones Road,
Effingham, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at her residence after an illness.

Mrs. Broach was born in Lake View, a daughter of the late Cornelius "Corny"
Wade Lupo and the late Mary Emma Thompson Lupo. She was a graduate of Lake
View High School and was a member of the Piney Grove Church of God of
Prophecy in Effingham, where she was the Sunday School teacher for ages 9-12
years, was youth director and was the Prayer Band leader. She retired in
2002 after 27 years with Roses of Southpark in Florence.



She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jim Lupo; and a sister,
Annie Jane Lupo.



Surviving are: her husband, Bobby Broach of Effingham; a daughter, Mary Ann
Blackwell and her husband, Richy Joseph Blackwell of Effingham; grandson,
Jamie Devlyn Driggers and his wife, Joanne Scott Driggers of Effingham; two
great-grandsons, Christian Tyler "Ty" Driggers and Jonathan Daniel "J.D."
Driggers, both of Effingham; two brothers, William (Ann) Lupo of Dillon, and
Robert (Dani) Lupo of Greensboro, N.C.; three sisters, Agnes Stokes of
Dillon, Aldia Mae Rogers, and Elsie (E.F.) Horne, both of Lake View; a
sister-in-law, Lib Lupo of Lake View; three very special people in her life
that are like a daughter and sons to her, Karen Rebecca "Becky" Driggers and
Charles "Charlie" Taylor, both of Effingham and Jimmie Morris of
Timmonsville; and a very special and dear nephew, Lavone Wayne Conner of
Effingham.



Memorials may be sent to the Piney Grove Church of God of Prophecy, 2808 W.
John Paul Jones Road, Effingham, S.C. 29541.



Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1. in the
Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Florence
Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral
home and other times at the residence of Mary Ann Blackwell, 2748 W. John
Paul Jones Road, Effingham.
