Ammons, Louis Smith



MARION -- Mr. Louis S. Ammons, 72, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, in McLeod
Regional Medical Center after an illness. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 31, from Richardson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in
Tranquil United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born in Marion County, Mr. Ammons was the son of the late William O. Ammons
Sr. and Charity C. Ammons. He was a member of Tranquil United Methodist
Church having served as a Sunday school superintendent for 20 years; a
retired employee of the A&P Grocery Store; and a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War.



Surviving are his wife, Doris C. Ammons of the home; a son, Robbie Ammons
and his wife, Renee, of Marion; two grandsons, Louis Ammons II and Matt
Ammons, both of Marion; two step-grandchildren, Casey Kissam and Hunter
Johnson; a sister, Elma Lee Snipes of Laurinburg, N.C.; and a sister-in-law,
Addie C. Ammons of Marion; and a number of nieces and nephews.
