In reply to Lily's query about Randal McDaniel/Elizabeth Hodges, I have more
questions than data.

I don't have any information regarding the Altman family.

Randal McDaniel seems to be the same person also found in the Marion records
as Randal McDonald. Randal McDonald purchased lands on Buck Swamp in 1820s
that had been granted to Benjamin Harrelson. Perhaps you can help me clear up
the question: were Randal McDaniel and Randal McDonald the same person?

Randal McDaniel seems to have had a son named Randal McDaniel per Marion
Probate Roll #1737 - Neill McDaniel who died in 1879. Among Neill's heirs
were the children of his deceased brother, Randal McDaniel., to wit: Winny
Tyner wife of Archd. Tyner, Randal McDaniel, John McDaniel, Margaret
McDaniel, a minor. (From Utley's "Abstracts of Marion County Probate Records"
Vol 3, published by Three Rivers Historical Society.) You probably already
have this. I just wondered if this is your Randal.

I have also noted the name of Robert Lide/Lloyd in the early Marion land
records. He had lands on Little Pee Dee River between Mullins and Lake View,
near the Harrelson lands. He also had lands, best I recall, down somewhere
around the Sister Bays and Reedy Creek. This seemed unusual to me, as I had
previously thought the Lide's were pretty well confined to Darlington County.
Could this Robert Lide/Lloyd be connected to the wife of Samuel Hodges?
