Hello everyone,

My excuses for writing in English, but I am not a master of the South-African language, although I can read it well due to my native tongue: Dutch.

My name is Leo Bakker and I am a 46 year-old teacher of English in the Netherlands. Together with a few other friends I am researching the surname of LINNEBANK. We came across the following couple, who emigrated from the Netherlands to South-Africa. My request is simple (I hope): Does anyone recognize the couple or their children?
If you should have any information on this couple or their children, as small as it may seem to you, could you please inform me?

Jan (or Johannes) LINNEBANK who was married to Cornelia Maria VAN DIJK.
We know that she was born 12th Aug. 1915 in Willeskop, the Netherlands and was mentioned as a servant in June 1934 in the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands. We were unable to find data on her husband.
We do know they emigrated to South Africa after 1934 to be more precise: to Johannisburg. They probably married there as well.
We also know (from descendants of Cornelia's brother) that there must have been 3 children:
1. Corné LINNEBANK
2. Rita LINNEBANK
3. Margaret LINNEBANK
All three most likely to have been born in South-Africa.

In 1984 the couple were still alive, as they visited some relatives in the Netherlands.

Does someone have acces to records to state these facts in South-Africa?

With the kindest regards from the Netherlands,
Leo Bakker
