<< Cousin's,

Am I the only cousin that doubts that John (TPM) was in the 3rd VA Regiment.
I know what is engraved on his head stone but lets remember that it was made
a hundred years after the fact. I think that the descendants of John (TPM)
knew he served in the Revolution so they used what I call NAMES THE SAME, SO
HE MUST BE OURS, GENEALOGY. In the book Revolutionary War Graves Register,
Compiled
and Edited by Clovis H. Brakebill, published in 1993 lists a John Rogers
(1746-1836) also a Corporal from Virginia is buried in McGavock Cemetery,
Williamson County, TN.

After researching and studying the Revolutionary War history, I find it hard
to believe that a 20 year old would travel (alone) over three hundred miles
to join a group of strangers to fight. I also don't believe that this group
of strangers would elect him to be one of their leaders.

If you want to know what John (TPM) Rogers did in the Revolution, read his
brother Benjamin's Pension record. I believe they mirrored each other.
