Subject: Advice for those replying to a message on this and other RootsWeb lists...ADMIN
Date: Mon, 21 Feb 2005 14:45:29 EST

Hi-

Please remember when you reply to someone else's post on this or another
mailing list that only the portion of the original post to which you are
replying should be quoted in your reply. Remember that some folks subscribe to the
lists in Digest mode and have to scroll through the original post and then
scroll through again when reading the replies. This is repetitious and takes
unnecessary time.

If you are a Digest subscriber and you are replying to a message in a
Digest, always remember to ONLY quote and message or snippet to which you are
replying. Never quote an entire Digest. In some email programs this means you
need to highlight and delete the extraneous messages or part of a message.

Two other reminders--always be sure to check the SEND TO addresses when
replying to be sure you are replying to the address(es) or list you had intended
to reply to, and also be sure the subject of the post is informative and is
relevant to the topic of your reply. If you are changing the discussion topic
then you should also change the subject line.

Thanks!
