Joseph Smith, husband of Patience Mowry, was son of Edward Smith and
Amphillis Angell and grandson of Christopher Smith of Providence.

John Smith, husband of Martha Mowry, was son of Benjamin Smith and Mercy
Angell and grandson of John Smith the Miller (second) and Sarah Whipple of
Providence. He was great grandson of John Smith the Miller (first) of
Providence.

These two SMITH families of Providence were NOT related and were NOT related
to Joseph Smith, the Mormon Prophet, whose Smith family was originally from
Topsfield, Mass (I believe).
