Ste-Colombe, distr. Jonzac, bishop. of Saintes, Saintonge (today Dept of
Charentes-Maritime); shoemaker
- 1st marriage 3 Feb 1699 in Québec city (contract 02 before Notary
Genaple) to Louise MORIN, dau. of Pierre & Catherine LeMESLE; Louise died
20 Feb 1710 in Quebec; she had 3 children from Jacques
- 2nd marriage 6 Oct 1710 at Ste-Foy (ct 06, Notary Dubeau) to Marguerite
SEDILOT, dau. of Jean & Marie-Claire de LaHOGUE. Up to 1725 she had had 9
children from Jacques PAYAN.
Jean SEDILOT dit Montreuil and Marie-Claire de LaHOGUE married in Quebec in
1669. Marie-Claire had migrated from France, a dau of Gilles & Marie
LeBRUN; she was from St-Germain-le-Vieil in Paris. Jean SEDILOT's parents
were Louis SÉDILOT or SÉDILLOT and his 2nd wife, Marie GRIMOULT, married in
Paris in about 1633. They were both from Gif-sur-Yvette, dist Palaiseau,
near Paris and they migrated to New France as a married couple.
