Subject: [Q-R] David Jenkins & Elizabeth Cox
Date: Sat, 18 Oct 2003 02:46:43 EDT
To me this is new and thought it might be of interest. I've been looking for
evidence that Elizabeth Cox, who married David Jenkins, 3mo. 14, 1754,
Warrington MH, York Co., Pa., was the daughter of Thomas Cox & Mary Cook. There are
several references from different sources about the family of David &
Elizabeth, but a direct connection to Thomas has not been made, that I can see. I found
a minute of their first declaration of intent to marry from Warrington Mtg.
naming David, Elizabeth & Thomas.
I've been looking at (LDS Film #387937) the abstracts of Warrington Monthly
Meeting Records, York County, Pennsylvania, Gilbert Cope, 1877 and found the
following:
12mo. 15, 1753 David Jenkins produced certificate from Exeter dtd 8mo. 30,
1753
3mo. 16, 1754 David Jinkins, son of Thomas, and Elizabeth Cox, daughter of
Thomas, declare intentions of marriage
4mo. 20, 1754 David Jenkins and Elizabeth Cox declare 2nd intention of
marriage
5mo. 18, 1754 Marriage of David & Elizabeth Jenkins reported orderly
Bob Cooke
